The message was that, although Sankirtan Prabhu had previously given up hope
and had even stopped eating, the cancerous tumor had recently reduced somewhat
in size. Sankirtan Prabhu was calling Gurumaharaja to ask what is
Gurumaharaja’s desire. Should he (Sankirtan Prabhu) resume eating and try to
stay a longer time on the planet in hopes of a miracle and a defeat of the
cancer?
Gurumaharaja asked about how much pain Sankirtan Prabhu was experiencing.
Sankirtan Prabhu is under palliative care, and is getting some relief from
regular doses of morphine. The message from Sankirtan Prabhu was that although
his situation was uncomfortable, he felt he could tolerate.
Gurumaharaja encouraged him to stay on longer.
“Yes. We have planned a Sannyasa ceremony for you in Kartik. How could you
leave?” Gurumaharaja offered, inspiring Sankirtan Prabhu to continue fighting
the cancer and seeking to extend his service to Srila Prabhupada’s mission on
this planet in this lifetime.
So, this is the update.
We will keep you informed whenever there are moretangible developments.
Please keep Sankirtan Prabhu in your prayers.
Your servant,
Eklavya Das
