Dear Maharaj,
Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Below is my attempt in a small way to glorify Sankirtan Prabhu;
"I owe my coming to Krishna Consiousness fully to Sankirtan Prabhu. He was the
first devotee i met in my life.I still clearly remember that day about 20years
ago when me with my wife and our 2 daughters went to the Taipei ISKCON centre
for the first time.Sankirtan Prabhu who was then the Temple President opened
the door for us.His gracious smile and friendly nature immediately touched our
hearts. It was a small place but we noticed he had a big heart. From that time
onwards he became a dear friend and guide for our family. He stayed in Taiwan
for few years and during this time we developed deep relationship.Although he
was running the Taipei centre single handidly he always had time to talk to the
devotees.Taiwan is a difficult place to preach but Sankirtan Prabhu was always
striving to find new ways to preach to the local people. His utter humility
greatly impressed the local people. He single handidly started a lunch programme
to attract new people. He use to cook prasadam and then serve the visitors. He
had unlimited dedication and enthusiasm to serve his Guru and Srila
Prabhupada's mission. His contribution in developing Taiwan yatra is tremendous.
Even after his decision to leave Taiwan he mantained close contacts with the
devotees here and made a point to visit us on a regular basis. His simplicity
and austere life style greatly impressed me.During last year Novmeber we met
for the last time in Vrindavan. He invited us to his place at the Sandipani Muni
school and personally cooked a meal for us.During that time his health had
started detiorating but he was always eager to serve the devotees.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Sankirtan Prabhu for guiding me
all these years in my spiritual journey.Without his guidance and mercy I would
have been lost in the material world with no direction.I will miss you
Sankirtan Prabhu!
Offering my deep obeisances to Sankirtan Prabhu and to all the assembled
Vaishnavas!"
